In the bonus sections, appearing at the end of every unit, we will learn some of the most common phrases or words used by Tunisians. These words are not easily learned with pictures because they are all said in the context of conversations. The way we will learn and practice them is using the most famous Tunisian sitcom: Choufli Hal.
First of all, you will familiarize yourself with the words by reading a text explaining how the word is used or where it comes from and then you’ll watch a combination of clips (with subtitles) where characters use the phrases. You will be able to go through it as much as you want and listen to these important words in very natural contexts.
It would be super useful in terms of language learning if you would watch full episodes of Choufli Hal. I included a table that gives you the links all episodes of the first season (it’s better to watch them in order). Watching them, even though you don’t understand much at first, would be an amazing way to supplement whatever you’re doing to learn the language. You will learn many cultural things in it as well. On top of that, almost all Tunisians are familiar with it and can easily discuss things going on and even specific plot points of certain episodes (they keep watching them to this day).
Here is a PDF with links to all the episodes. I watched them ALL before I moved to Tunisia.
